In Person Adventure with Pzpn 2.0

Another IP adventure. This time again with the PZPN ( Polish National team)

Before every match, away or home, the Polish squad will always regroup in Warsaw. One week before their match against Germany, the team already started regrouping. I knew I had a chance to see everyone again. The last time I had no luck with Blaszczykowski, so I hoped I would meet him this time.

I arrived at the hotel at 12. There were lots of press and tv cameras everywhere. I sat down and waited, for players to come. The first person I got an autograph from was the manager, Adam Nawalka, who came from the restaurant. Later, more and more players came to the hotel. They came in by a taxi. Right after they stepped into the hotel, the press asked them for an interview. Most of them said yes. Then, they gave us some autographs. Unfortunately, Szczesny and Boruc didn’t stop for the press nor for their fans. I heard that the team already arrived to the hotel one day before. Maybe that’s the reason why not all of the players came that day.

At around 5, Lewandowski and his wife (Anna) came out of the elevator. He took Anna to her car and went back to the hotel. I got 10 things signed by him. I heard that the players will have dinner at 8:30. I decided to wait till that time. Krychowiak’s plane supposed to land at 7 and he would arrive to the hotel at 8. At around 8:30 I saw his taxi coming, but he went in through the backdoor. I waited till 8:30 until the player’s dinner, but only 2 players came down. I think they weren't hungry after their flight. It was late, so I gave up that day and went home.

A week later, after Germany vs Poland’s match, I decided to go again. Their plane would land at 13:30. I took a taxi to the hotel at 13:20. When I was near the hotel, I saw the Polish national team bus in front of me. I followed them to the hotel, but sadly, they used the backdoor. The front door was blocked, because of some gathering with hundreds of people in the lobby. Unfortunately I had no chance of seeing the team coming out off the bus. I sat down, got a drink, and waited. After 30 minutes of sitting, Lewandowski came down to the lobby to talk with his manager. Tons of people went to get a picture with him. The meeting in the hotel still went on, so more and more people gathered around Lewandowski. When I asked him for a picture, the only thing that he said was “Again you”, but he still got a picture with him. It was my third time getting a picture with him. He remembered me from last week, most probably because I was the only Asian in the hotel. At some point, too many people stood around Lewy. The security guard came and escorted him to the elevator. After that, I sat in the hotel and waited. No one came after 2 hours, so I gave up.

I wanted to go home, until I came up with an idea to go up to their floor. To use the elevator, I needed a guest card. I was smart enough to take the stairs. The last time I went up, the security kicked me out, so I was quite scared of going there this time. I sat on a sofa up there. The team had a vip lunch and spa on that floor. Players were wearing white bathrobes for the spa. I received almost everyones autograph except Krychowiak. When the security guard came up, he said,”You again?” I told him that it’s my 4th time here and I never got an autograph from Blaszczykowski. He said that it’s okay for me to sit here, but only for this time. At the end of the day, thanks to the security, I had the chance to get picture with Blaszczykowski and ended up with 82 autographs in two days. Great success!
